To Him Alone Directly Beseech

He fashions the boundless sapphire skies with fleecy clouds scattered beneath

He gently bathes the earth with rain to fertile for His creatures to abundantly benefit

Hence, halal provisions from soils vigorously cherished for humanity to ingest

Certainly, these numerous blessings that He bestowed for mankind are gratis

He does everything for us; name it, mountains, oceans, forests, fountains, loved ones and families

Truly, He is Allaah, the lone who has the capacity to carry out whatever our senses can take

All He wants from us is to Him alone directly beseech and not to whatever He creates

For He is Al-‘Alim, surely He knows all our predicaments are be it hidden and manifest

Incumbent for us He alone we must worship from our existence until our last breath ends

THE UNFORGETTABLE YOUTH CAMP

THE UNFORGETTABLE YOUTH CAMP By MSA-UZ Member The youth camp is one of the most effective methods for the Islamic training of young potential leaders. Thus, as an official youth organization in our most beloved academe, we wish to contribute more to the welfare of the university in pursuit for peace and development even just in our humble capacity despite the hectic schedule as college students. We apprehended that in order to gain the aforementioned matters, we must first discipline ourselves along with our co-MSA-UZ fellows in an Islamic arena. Consequently, after a long patient and persistent preparation on the proposed plan for the mini Youth Camp, finally, the MSA-UZ held its 1st time ever youth camp with the THEME of “ISLAMIC BROTHERHOOD: HOW TO ATTAIN IT” at Puerto Villa Beach Resort, Patalon, Zamboanga City last April 10-11, 2009. The activity was peacefully opened by the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an by the former MSA-UZ President Alhusin Muhammad. It continu...

Simple Kindness by 2 Muslim-Tausug Cops of Sulu

Simple Kindness by 2 Muslim-Tausug Cops of Sulu By Gamson Jr Mawallil Quijano  This story was published on Mindanews.com  https://www.mindanews.com/mindaviews/2021/06/tausug-in-doha-simple-kindness-by-2-muslim-tausug-cops-from-sulu/ A great story is always worth telling, because it can inspire others to do the same. On Monday, 08 June 2021, one post on Facebook caught my attention. It is a story of the kind-gesture done to a 60-year-old man by one junior member of the Philippine National Police, who happens to be my younger brother, Pat. Mohammad Alsarif Mawallil Quijano-- a Muslim-Tausug cop currently assigned in Oriental Mindoro. He also belongs to the Tulawie Clan of Sulu.  My heart was elated  by reading the post because he is my younger brother and he makes me so proud of him. He has displayed the true sense of being one of the best examples of a true Muslim who is always kindhearted and humble to anyone not just to someone or a special few....

DEFENSE OF MUSLIMAT FORTRESS: NO DEARTH OF LAWS, ONLY DEATH

By: Neocatalyst “There is no dearth of laws, but there is death of laws,” commented Warina Sushil A. Jukuy, Coordinator for Philippine Alliance of Human Rights Advocates (PAHRA-WESMIN) . She said that there is no dearth of laws, memoranda, issuances, department orders and yet disrespect for the right to wear hijab as a sign of piety prevails. I personally resonate with her observation that strict compliance of hijab legal guidance is actually met with outright defiance by personnel of the very agencies that issued them. Could this non-compliance be due to unprofessionalism, discrimination or mere ignorance? Recent reported cases of disallowing the right to hijab are happening not only in hospitals, schools, universities, colleges, but are also either fully violated (mandatory removal of hijab) or partially violated (requiring ears exposure) as photo requirements in government agencies such as the Civil Service Commission (CSC), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) a...
