How Food Heals OFWs' Homesickness this Eid’l Adha

How Food Heals OFWs' Homesickness this Eid’l Adha By Gamson Jr Mawallil Quijano July 31, 2020, Friday To opt to be away from beloved families, loved ones and homeland in order to sacrifice and help uplift the well-being of one's family is one of the hardest decisions that every overseas Filipino worker (OFW) has ever made in their entire life.  Relentlessly, for the sake of unwavering love for family, every OFW is more than willing to exhaust all the possible good means abroad fueled by hopes of giving them a better life and education. Undoubtedly, the courage and perseverance that they have always shown are truly admirable.  One of the biggest things that people like us who work overseas struggle with every single day is homesickness. We are always longing for the company of our family and loved ones; likewise, we are also occasionally yearning for our native food, especially during special occasions such as Eid (Feast) Day.  Thankfully, here in Qatar, we have this exper...

MY KOKKOK’s UNFORGETTABLE STORY

MY KOKKOK’s UNFORGETTABLE STORY  27 June 2020, Saturday  By Gamson Jr Mawallil Quijano, Uthman’s maternal uncle Uthman Quijano Radjilul Yesterday, Friday, June 26, 2020, my eldest brother called me via FB messenger around 4:46pm Qatar time informing me that my nephew Uthman had a convulsion due to high fever.  Thus, everyone at home was panicking except for my brother who is an EMT and he managed to rush my nephew to the hospital nearby.  Alhamdu Lillaahi, because our house is just adjacent to the ZamPenHosp, he just carried our nephew in his arms as he swiftly rushed to the hospital while Inah, Amah and my aunt followed as they also ran anxiously behind him. Amah, told me that at that moment he felt some chest pain but later on it turned to relief.  Inah told me early afternoon yesterday that my nephew had intermittent fever and that she already gave him medicine.  Nonetheless, they still set an appointment at Ciudad Hospital with my nep...

My Random Thoughts

My Random Thoughts  By: Gamson Jr Mawallil Quijano E veryone has a unique story to tell. Trials are boundless and just free to come and go in our lives to agonize us emotionally, mentally and physically. Nevertheless, optimum patience is extremely crucial amid all of these. Because know, had we been just lenient in dealing with it, triumph awaits us at the end.  ‬ When we create plans for our lives, we thought it’s already the best for us. But, sometimes out of Allaah’s mercy and wisdom, He replaces it with something that’s truly best for us. He has always perfect plans for us. Let’s surrender and submit everything to Him. One of the best feelings is when your heart remains happy amidst all the trials that you are passing through and still able to patiently accept it that it was the decree of Allaah and you are contented and pleased with it. Amidst the sadness, still, manage to smile and be grateful to Him. Let’s continue to fervently beseech Allāh that may our bel...

Painting My Dearest “INAH” Through Words

My 1st English Composition in Grammar & Creative Writing  Course Guide: kah Warina Sushil Bint Ismuraji 💚 Painting My Dearest “INAH” Through Words💚 November 26, 2019 at 0319H My dearest Inah, Mrs. Nurhaida Mawallil-Quijano I know so well and love so much an amazing woman who is resilient in all aspects of her endearing persona. Apart from being lovely inside out, she is as well an optimistic, energetic and a diligent woman. I so admire her calmness because she is impervious to every pain and trial in her life. Thus, she is known in our place as a strong and resolute woman; and she is no other than my cherished mother, Nurhaida. ❣️ Most people close to my mother fondly call her “Edang”, but she's “Auntie Edang” to her nephews and nieces who described her as an authoritarian aunt. Well, I believe they were somehow thankful that my mother was amongst the ones who nurtured them during their younger days. From amongst the eight in the siblings, she is the third old...
