My Random Thoughts

My Random Thoughts  By: Gamson Jr Mawallil Quijano E veryone has a unique story to tell. Trials are boundless and just free to come and go in our lives to agonize us emotionally, mentally and physically. Nevertheless, optimum patience is extremely crucial amid all of these. Because know, had we been just lenient in dealing with it, triumph awaits us at the end.  ‬ When we create plans for our lives, we thought it’s already the best for us. But, sometimes out of Allaah’s mercy and wisdom, He replaces it with something that’s truly best for us. He has always perfect plans for us. Let’s surrender and submit everything to Him. One of the best feelings is when your heart remains happy amidst all the trials that you are passing through and still able to patiently accept it that it was the decree of Allaah and you are contented and pleased with it. Amidst the sadness, still, manage to smile and be grateful to Him. Let’s continue to fervently beseech Allāh that may our beloved fami

Painting My Dearest “INAH” Through Words

My 1st English Composition in Grammar & Creative Writing  Course Guide: kah Warina Sushil Bint Ismuraji šŸ’š Painting My Dearest “INAH” Through WordsšŸ’š November 26, 2019 at 0319H My dearest Inah, Mrs. Nurhaida Mawallil-Quijano I know so well and love so much an amazing woman who is resilient in all aspects of her endearing persona. Apart from being lovely inside out, she is as well an optimistic, energetic and a diligent woman. I so admire her calmness because she is impervious to every pain and trial in her life. Thus, she is known in our place as a strong and resolute woman; and she is no other than my cherished mother, Nurhaida. ❣️ Most people close to my mother fondly call her “Edang”, but she's “Auntie Edang” to her nephews and nieces who described her as an authoritarian aunt. Well, I believe they were somehow thankful that my mother was amongst the ones who nurtured them during their younger days. From amongst the eight in the siblings, she is the third old

Mama, where are you?

Mama, where are you?  Please come back to us, come back home. I and my brother grew up without the presence of our mother. Our grandmother filled out the role, nurtured and cared for us when she was still alive. Afterwards, we stayed in the care of my maternal aunts when my grandma has passed away. Since we were kids, we don’t have any idea of the whereabouts of our beloved mama. We did not even have the opportunity to glimpse her, not even had a memory of her. We only have her old photograph that we carefully kept as a souvenir of her. Moreover, I didn’t even know also that I have biological siblings until I reached adolescence when I first saw my father and my other siblings. I was so perplexed of the condition of my family. My struggles with my brother were difficult and deplorable for us. There is no day that we tremendously yearn to see our mama, kiss and hug her tightly and feel the warmth of her hug, warmth of joy, the feeling of completeness, the feeling that onl

Can you still reminisce?

Can you still reminisce…..? By Gamson Jr Mawallil Quijano This is our house in Jolo, Sulu where I happily grew up and spent many precious memories with my family and loved ones. Can you still reminisce..... The time that you were a toddler and together with your treasured family in one place you called "HOME"?  The time that when it’s time to eat, you will happily eat all together in one table with your parents, siblings and other members of the family. Enjoying the simple viands being prepared by your mother? The time that you sleep side by side with your mother, father and siblings and sometimes with your grandparents in one mattress or sleeping mat protected with a "KULAMBU" or mosquito net? The time that when Ramadhan comes, you excitingly prepare food for Iftar and Sahur, going to masjid for Tarawi. As well as during Eid, you will go to a nearby masjid all together to pray and return home merrily celebrating it? The time, when you will go to

The Bird and Its nest

The Bird and Its nest by ArRayyan Mawallil Tulawie Occasionally, when I look outside my window, I always see this lovely bird resting on the balcony and she would just fly around intermittently. One fine day, I was mesmerized when I noticed dried petioles and lawns which she singly pecked from the soil and patiently carried it to the fourth floor of our building. Amazingly, I found out that she used it to build her nest to lay and incubate her eggs and to raise her youngs. Sadly, one day, her unfinished nest was ruined by the gusty winds. Nevertheless, she was unstoppable. Out of mother’s ultimate love and mercy for her new offsprings, she courageously and tirelessly built a new one. Alhmadu Lillaah, after all her great struggles and sacrifices, she successfully got her new comfortable nest where she can conveniently lay and incubate her eggs to raise her youngs. Subhaana Allaah, this bird teaches me a valuable lesson. Truly, in life, no matte

Innaa Lillaahi wa Innaa Ilayhi Raajiun

My Humble Personal Opinion When someone posted on Facebook “Innaa Lillaahi wa Innaa Ilayhi Raajiun”, certainly he/she knows the main reason why he/she posted so. But, his/her FB friends DON’T. A community on Facebook is mixed with people “with and without” intensive Islamic educational backgrounds. Customarily, some were used that when “Innaa Lillaahi wa Innaa Ilayhi Raajiun” is pronounced, someone from the closest family, relatives or friends has passed away. Thus, when they read this phrase posted by their FB friend who happens to be the member of their kin, the initial reaction is they will be shocked, worried and would ask WHO DIED? Although in Islam, this is not exclusively intended to be supplicated upon someone’s death. But as well as if there are calamities and other untoward incident to befall. That’s why we shouldn’t also let ourselves to be forever ignorant of our Deen. Moreover, IT’S ok if being uttered privately, whatever the reason why someone says so, IT’S

Be Like A Sun

Be like the sun By Gamson Jr Mawallil Quijano Photo credits to owner When the sun is about to rise after Fajr, its breathtaking view gives comfort into our eyes and hearts It reminds us that no matter how grim the situation is, one day, it will be gradually distinct As it rises across the horizon, it teaches us that with undisputed hope and faith to Allāh, we can go forth with determination As how the sun gives countless welfare to all creatures, it tells us to seize the chance when we can still bring good benefit on our own humble way for all So while we're still alive, let's be a good person for everybody wherever we are Close your eyes to pessimism and continue to focus on optimism till the end Truly, much wisdom can be learnt from the sun-the greatest blessing that Allāh has bestowed for mankind Even when it sets, it gives us valuable lessons and even continuously reminds us to be impervious to all trials and keep going Undoubtedly, sunset is truly evident that ever
